Day 2 Recap: "An Epic Day"

“A top-tier day—just an all-around epic day,” is how Jesper Jobse described the second day of the World Tour Amsterdam Masters. The fact that Team Netherlands also won the 3x3 Women’s Series was the icing on the cake for the tournament director. “One of the reasons we organize tournaments like this is to give Dutch teams a platform. To see them truly deliver on that stage is just amazing.”
But Jobse didn’t just enjoy the 3x3 basketball action. He was thrilled with how well the event blended with the Urban Sports Week Amsterdam. “You come up with a plan together, and when it actually comes to life like this, it’s incredibly satisfying. It really turned into one big celebration.”
The NDSM grounds were full of happy people, with kids playing sports themselves or watching the freerunning, skateboarding, or the Parkour World Cup. “The stands were packed, and I even saw basketball players checking out the freerunning or skateboarding events. How cool is that?”
In the 3x3 World Tour, Team Amsterdam secured a spot in the quarterfinals, where they’ll face a tough challenge on Sunday: a rematch against Toulouse. The matchup echoes the Olympic final, in which the Netherlands triumphed over France. Team Utrecht narrowly missed out on advancing.
Jobse is already looking forward to the third and final day: “It’s going to be another big party—especially with sold-out stands at the 3x3 World Tour. We’re completely at capacity.”
