2026: An anniversary year full of ambition and plans

Best wishes! Get ready for 2026, because it promises to be a historic year for 3X3 Unites. Not only because 3X3 Unites is celebrating its ten-year anniversary, but also because, together with its partners, communities and young people, it wants to make it a year worthy of that anniversary.

If it is up to 3X3 Unites, this will be the best, busiest and most impactful year so far, and together we will continue to build character, leadership and perspective for young people — from the strength and DNA of 3x3 basketball. “The basketball court has always been more to us than just a place to play sports,” says co-founder Jesper Jobse. “It is a learning environment where young people discover what they are capable of.”

“We are going to push our boundaries once again. In 2026 we will organize more activities than ever, including our very first own festival,” Jesper continues. “It will be big and unique — and something we will share more about soon. In addition, the 3x3 Street League will finish on the 3x3 World Tour for the first time. From the street to the top.”

The number of 3X3 Leader Courses, the core business of 3X3 Unites, is also growing. In addition, the number of partnerships with municipalities at the start of 2026 has doubled compared to exactly one year earlier, and 3X3 Unites is welcoming new partners. “We want to perform better every year,” says Jesper.

Over the past nine years, thousands of young people have been part of the programs of 3X3 Unites. They grew into role models, developed into leaders and strengthened their networks. In turn, they now inspire other young people and together build strong local, regional and national communities.
“From the very beginning, we have believed in the power of connection,” adds co-founder Mark Schuurman. “Not top-down, but together with young people and communities. That is exactly how a development pathway emerges - from the street to each person’s personal top.”

What does that look like in practice? Ten years ago, 3X3 Unites started on local courts, with a small group of young people who were looking for their place. Some of them have now become key faces within 3X3 Unites. “We want to remain relevant in the lives of young people over a longer period of time, especially during a crucial phase of their lives,” says Mark.

He continues: “In 2026, we will keep building on our mission and further expand our community. Of course, we will not do this alone, but together with all our loyal partners, municipalities, organizations and, of course, the young people. Together, we will make it an unforgettable (anniversary) year.”
