Privacystatement – 3X3 Unites

This privacy statement explains which personal data we process, why we do so, and what your rights are.

Stichting 3X3 Unites and 3X3 Pro B.V. are each independent data controllers. This means that each organization decides for itself the purposes and the manner in which personal data is processed within its own activities.

We use the same website, brand name, and digital systems. As a result, personal data collected through this website can be accessed or used by both organizations, but only for the purposes described in this privacy statement.

Which organization is responsible for a specific processing depends on the activity or service (for example, a community program or a commercial event). This is explained for each part in this privacy statement.

This statement applies to the processing of personal data via our website and in connection with our events, training sessions, tournaments, purchases, and other services organized by:

  • Stichting 3X3 Unites, focused on community building, personal development, and education
  • 3X3 Pro B.V., focused on commercial sports events.

We operate jointly under the name 3X3 Unites, but are legally separate entities. Depending on the activity or service, either the foundation or the private company is the data controller.

Who is responsible for your data?

The data controller depends on the type of activity:

For community programs, clinics, youth development, grants & funds, volunteers, education, the webshop, and related services: Stichting 3X3 Unites, Keienbergweg 93, 1101GE Amsterdam, KvK: 66588588.

For commercial events, partnerships, sponsorship, ticketed events: 3X3 Pro B.V., Westbatterijlaan 25, 1398DB Muiden, KvK: 86896466.

Which personal data do we process?

We only process data that is necessary to properly provide our services.

Participation in community programs, events, leader hub, street league hub or workshops

If you participate in a community program, training, or workshop, we process your:

  • name;
  • email address;
  • date of birth;
  • place of residence;
  • bank details; (only in case of payouts, access restricted and not applicable to every user)
  • phone number;

Stichting 3X3 Unites is responsible for this.

Participation in tournaments or events

If you participate in a tournament or event (such as the FIBA 3x3 World Tour or 3X3 Pro League), we process your:

  • name;
  • date of birth;
  • contact details;
  • team name;
  • performance statistics;
  • photo and video footage;

3X3 Pro BV is responsible.

Purchase via the webshop

If you make a purchase through the webshop, we process your name, date of birth, delivery address, and bank details. Stichting 3X3 Unites is responsible.

Contact via the website or social media

If you contact us via the website or social media, we process the information you provide. This typically includes your name, email address, and any information you choose to share with us. Depending on the subject of your question or message Stichting 3X3 Unites or 3X3 Pro B.V. is responsible. 

Photos may be taken of participants or visitors during events. The data controller for this depends on the organizer of the event: Stichting 3X3 Unites or 3X3 Pro B.V.

Why do we process this data?

We process personal data in order to:

  • Handle your registration or webshop order;
  • Enable participation in an event, clinic, or tournament;
  • Keep you informed about relevant information (e.g., changes in time/location);
  • Track statistics on participation and reach;
  • Improve our services;
  • Take photos and videos of activities for promotional or reporting purposes;
  • Fulfil legal obligations (such as financial administration or insurance coverage).

On what basis do you process this data?

We process your personal data on the basis of:

  • Your consent, for example for the use of visual materials;
  • The performance of a contract, such as participation in a training session or a webshop order;
  • Our legitimate interest in organizing safe and accessible activities;
  • A possible legal obligation, such as tax retention requirements.

Do you share data with others?

We only share your personal data with third parties when necessary for:

  • The performance of our services (e.g., payment processing, hosting);
  • Legal obligations;
  • Participant lists and scores (at sports events);
  • Processing photo or video material through professional service providers.

We use the following service providers (processors) to carry out our services. These parties process personal data solely on our behalf and according to our instructions. We enter into data processing agreements with these parties.

These include, among others:
CM.com – for ticket sales, event registration, and access management.
Maileon – for sending newsletters and event communications.
Airtable – for managing internal databases, including participant and event administration.
Google Workspace – for internal communication, email, and document storage.

We do not sell your data. We may process personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), for example through services. In such cases, we ensure that any data transfer only takes place based on appropriate safeguards, such as the Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission. 

How long do you retain my data?

We do not retain your personal data longer than necessary.

  • Registration data: up to 2 years after last participation;
  • Webshop data: in accordance with tax retention obligations (7 years);
  • Photo/video material: up to 2 years after recording, unless consent has been given for longer use;
  • CCTV footage (if applicable): up to 4 weeks.

How do you handle visual materials?

During our events, training sessions, and tournaments, we take photos and videos. We use these for atmosphere impressions, promotion, reporting, and archiving. We ask for your consent in advance or rely on our legitimate interest. You can object by contacting us at: privacy@3x3unites.com.

What are my rights?

You have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data;
  • Object to the processing of your data;
  • Withdraw your consent;
  • File a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

In some cases, we may not be able to fully comply with your request, for example if we are legally required to retain certain data.

Our website uses cookies. For more information, please refer to our cookie policy. We also collect general information about website visits (such as IP address and browser type) for security and statistical purposes.
