3X3 Unites Launches Its Own Merchandise During WTA
During the World Tour Amsterdam Masters, young people from 3X3 Unites had the opportunity to showcase their talents in various ways around the court. At the merchandise shop, fans could find clothing designed by 3X3 Leaders Ruben Jonker and Kenza el Alaoui.
The T-shirts and hoodies hanging on the racks feature the word Unites in a range of fonts and sizes. “That’s the central theme of this collection,” says Ruben. “It’s about coming together and forming a united front—core values that represent what 3X3 Unites stands for.”

Large banners displayed throughout the shop showcased the campaign photoshoot for the new collection, featuring a diverse range of people—everyone from 3X3 Leaders to parents, small children, and elite athletes. “We wanted to highlight our diversity and show that everyone is welcome,” says Shuwendly Sophia on behalf of 3X3 Unites.

According to Shuwendly, all proceeds from the merchandise go straight back into the foundation. “We reinvest it into our activities, facilities, or to support our 3X3 Leaders.”

In addition to the Unites line, the shop features other items as well. Graphic designer Shon Price created limited edition shirts for the World Tour, and Dusan Jocic from 3X3 Unites is behind the design of the new Pro League jerseys, which are being showcased for the first time during the tournament.

But that’s not all. The fanny packs by KLABU also stand out in the shop. This non-profit organization is dedicated to making sports accessible for refugees, transforming shipping containers into clubhouses. “Sports are incredibly important in refugee camps. They bring energy, positivity, and hope—things that are crucial when you’re trying not to give up,” says Elize Wind, speaking on behalf of KLABU.

Previously, KLABU opened a clubhouse in Kalobeyei, Kenya, a refugee camp that hosts 73,000 people. Thanks to their partnership with Vunzige Deuntjes, the clubhouse was outfitted with additional resources. A basketball court is now under construction, and KLABU, Vunzige Deuntjes, and 3X3 Unites are ready to take the next step. Through the sale of the fanny packs, they aim to raise enough money to sustain and grow the facilities in Kenya.

And that’s not all. The plan is for KLABU, 3X3 Unites, and Vunzige Deuntjes to travel to Kalobeyei at the end of the year to host a 3X3 Leader Course on-site. “We’re already running Leader Courses at our clubhouse in Ter Apel. With this project, we’re hoping to expand our reach internationally,” says Shuwendly.

“The connection with KLABU was immediate,” Shuwendly adds. “We share the same core values—we use sport as a tool to support people facing challenges and to create new opportunities for them.”
