3X3 FOR MUNICIPALITIES

All over the world, 3X3 UNITES works with local governments to make a difference in society. Our Leadership programs form the basis for this. Through these programs, we teach young people through 3X3 basketball Life Skills from which they and their local community will derive lasting benefits.

The nature of the 3X3 sport particularly lends itself for the development of skills that are essential in everyday life. We call these skills Life Skills. Anticipation, resilience, ownership, sportsmanship and inclusiveness are just some of the Life Skills that are central to our programs.

Young people who follow our 3X3 Leadership program remain, after obtaining their Leadership Diploma, part of our activation programs on the basketball courts in the municipalities where we are active. They ensure at a local level that there is a structural 3X3 offer in their community with activities, training sessions and events. In this way, 3X3 Unites guarantees a long-term impact.

The courses in the Netherlands are even certified by NOC*NSF, the Dutch umbrella organisation for sport. We are looking for possibilities for certification in partner countries, especially in Europe.

250+ active Leaders

1.250+ activities & events

12.500+ kids at courts

Within 3X3 Unites we find it important to ensure that everyone in our community can continue to grow. For the more experienced 3X3 Leaders we therefore developed an Instructor Course. After completing this program of 8 meetings, these brand new instructors are given a more coordinating role.

SPORT FOR DEVELOPMENT

3X3 is an excellent way to incorporate specific Life Skills into sports, thereby serving as a powerful tool for development. We are proud that our sport can make such a powerful contribution to the development of (young) individuals and the effect that this has on their living environment. The overlap with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations (SDG’s) confirm our belief in the programmes we develop. The social themes and SDG’s we are committed to are:

  • SDG 3 Good Health and Well-Being
  • SDG 5 - Gender Equality
  • SDG 8 - Decent Work & Economic Growth
  • SDG 10 - Reduced Inequalities
  • SDG 11 - Sustainable Cities and Communities

    LEGACY COURt

Through its Leadership programmes, 3X3 Unites offers the tools to activate and connect the local community. Over the years, it has been proven again and again how important well-maintained basketball courts are for the impact that can be made.

    Leader manual

3X3 UNITES does not only focus on the practical side of the sport, we also initiate research into the social effects of street sports with 3X3 as our focus. In collaboration with several renowned international partners, we have spent two years researching the impact of 3X3 on the development of individuals and communities. This has resulted in the very first 3X3 book ever. The Leader Manual.
